Privacy Policy

The controller of your personal data is “Z. Fragkogiannis – Ch. Barmparousis O.E.” (distinctive title “Epitopioi Elegchoi”, trading as CarCheck), Odysseos 7, 104 37 Athens, Greece, VAT No. 800832920, GEMI No. 142441301000.

We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”), Greek Law 4624/2019 and, for cookies and electronic communications, Greek Law 3471/2006.

Booking an inspection. Your full name, phone number, email, the address where the vehicle is, the vehicle model and, if you give it, the seller’s phone number. We need these to arrange and carry out the inspection and to send you the confirmation and the inspection report. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Distance charge. The vehicle’s address is sent to Google Maps to calculate the driving distance and any travel charge. Legal basis: performance of a contract.

Payment and invoices. Your billing address and, if you ask for an invoice, your VAT number, company name, tax office and business activity. Legal basis: performance of a contract and compliance with tax law (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). Your card details are entered directly on the National Bank of Greece payment page. We never see or store your card number; we only receive the result and reference of the transaction.

The seller’s details. If you give us the seller’s phone number, we use it only to coordinate the inspection with them. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing the service you requested (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Please let the seller know that you are giving us their number.

Contact form. Your name, phone number, the vehicle’s area and your message, so that we can reply. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Newsletter. Your email address, if you subscribe. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time by emailing info@carcheck.gr.

Technical data. When you visit, the server logs your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the website secure and working. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Statistics and advertising. With your consent through the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta Pixel to measure visits and the effectiveness of our advertising. Without your consent these tools do not store cookies. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 4(5) of Law 3471/2006). See the Cookie Policy, where you can also change your choices.

We do not sell or rent your data. We share it only as far as necessary with the following recipients, who process it on our behalf or as independent controllers:

• our website hosting provider;
• the National Bank of Greece and its payment gateway provider (Mastercard), to process your payment;
• Google (Maps and Places for addresses, Calendar for scheduling appointments and, with your consent, Analytics, Ads and Tag Manager);
• Microsoft (Microsoft 365), through which the website’s emails are sent;
• Meta Platforms (Meta Pixel), only with your consent;
• our accountant and the tax authorities (AADE / myDATA), to issue and keep invoices and receipts;
• public, judicial or supervisory authorities, where the law requires it.

Some of the providers above (Google, Microsoft, Meta) may process data in the United States. These transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

• Booking, payment and invoice records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires (as a rule five years from the end of the relevant financial year) and, where needed, until any contractual claims become time-barred.
• Contact form messages: up to 12 months after our last contact, unless they lead to a booking.
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
• Server log files: for a limited period, for security.
• Cookies: for the duration stated in the Cookie Policy.

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, to data portability, and to object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Articles 15–21 GDPR). Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

To exercise your rights, email info@carcheck.gr. We will reply without undue delay and within one month at the latest. We may ask for information to confirm your identity.

If you believe that the processing of your data breaches the law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (Kifisias Ave. 1–3, 115 23 Athens, www.dpa.gr).

Providing your booking details is necessary for us to carry out the inspection; without them we cannot provide the service. We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing, and we do not carry out profiling that produces legal effects for you.

We protect your data with an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and restrict access to those who need it.

We may update this policy. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the date of the last update.
