Terms of Service

Terms of Service – Carrying Out the Inspection

  1. You may withdraw from an inspection order without giving a reason, by phone or electronically. If you withdraw up to 24 hours before the scheduled appointment, Car Check will refund the inspection fee in full. Otherwise, the charge will be half the price of the scheduled inspection. If the inspection is cancelled at the inspection location while the engineer is present, for any reason other than the company’s fault or adverse weather, the client must pay the full price of the selected inspection package.
  2. The underbody inspection is carried out only if the vehicle has enough ground clearance to be driven onto the ramps. Otherwise, €10 is deducted from the price of the thorough inspection.
  3. Parts fitted to the car after manufacture that are not factory equipment, such as LPG or CNG fuel systems, mechanical modifications, etc., are not inspected.
  4. The test drive is not carried out if:
    • a) The seller-owner has not given approval/authorisation.
    • b) Not all of the legal documents that accompany every vehicle are present (e.g. official number plates, valid registration certificate, valid roadworthiness (KTEO) certificate, valid insurance policy, and any other document required for the vehicle being inspected).
    • c) The car is not technically fit for use on public roads.
  5. The seller-owner does not need to be in the vehicle during the road test if, with the inspection order and by express declaration, they grant the inspector permission to drive it.

Liability – Disclaimer

Car Check provides used passenger car inspection services in Greece under the following terms, which the client or their legal representative declares that they accept unreservedly.

By ordering an inspection, the client automatically also accepts the following terms:

  1. A vehicle inspection by Car Check is requested by the vehicle’s owner-seller, by a person authorised for that purpose, or by the prospective buyer with the owner-seller’s consent.
  2. The result of the inspection (the “inspection report”) is purely informative about the condition of the car at the time of the inspection only, and under no circumstances can it: a) constitute a guarantee of either the condition or the car itself, or b) be regarded as a recommendation to buy or not to buy the vehicle.
  3. The inspection is carried out with specialised, certified equipment intended for use by trained engineers. The result relates solely to the condition of the vehicle at the time of the inspection. Any later interventions or changes to the inspected vehicle, whether significant or minor (e.g. misuse by the owner, an accident or work on the vehicle, as well as normal wear and tear), fall outside the scope of the inspection order, as they cannot be foreseen or recorded in the inspection report.
  4. Limits of time, location and cost do not allow parts, covers or components of the vehicle to be dismantled so that their interior can be inspected. For this reason, some items may be assessed subjectively and by inference, taking a combination of evidence into account.
  5. Car Check is not liable for conclusions that cannot be substantiated by its inspection process and equipment. Nor is it liable for failing to detect: a) problems that do not recur regularly (including at the time of the inspection), b) defects that may have been deliberately concealed, c) anything that cannot be checked without dismantling parts or covers of the vehicle, d) any problem relating to the authenticity or legality of the documents presented during the inspection.
  6. If damage or faults occur during the test drive of the vehicle by Car Check’s authorised staff, or during the vehicle inspection in general, Car Check is not liable for repairing that damage.
